Default Honda 400EX valve ticking?

I am having trouble with a louder than normal ticking/ knocking. I have replaced timing chain and guides. I have adjusted the valves 2 times .004 intake and .005 exhaust. 1 at .003 intake and .004 exhaust with same results. Could this be a valve sticking or something deeper in side engine?

Valve noise drives many people nuts, did you ever hear that a clackie valve is a happy valve!! I have worked on many bikes and see all the time that oil is not changed and the cam lobes and valves are wore out. I worked on a Polaris from a sod farm and the cam lobes were completely gone. Have you looked at the cam and valves?

if its a stock cam it might be the decompressor, secondary rockers might be worn or most likely its the timing chain tensioner
