Yamaha Warrior 350 Faster???
#1
I need my bike to go faster i am riding with guys with 450's and 500's and we are riding through some trails, i can keep up with them pretty good but once we hit the straight-aways there gone. I know that i can't make it keep up with them but i was wondering what i could do to get it up and going and to take off fast but keep it some what fast in the long runs. The only thing i have done to it is put a HMF pipe on it and put a bigger main jet in, i have heard that you can gear it differently but i have know clue about gearing so if you could give me ideas on what to do and if the gearing thing would work if you could tell me how or send me a link of instruction or whatever. oh and don't say get i different bike because i'm not i'm staying with this bike. Thanks

All the mods you can do to that Warrior will not make it hang with the 450's. I had a Warrior engine basically maxxed out and it still could not beat 450's in a drag race. It was close, but they would still win. since you have the exhaust you could put a 1 tooth larger sprocket on the front (14 tooth). That will give you a little more top speed for $20.
My best advice if you're going to keep the Warrior is just accept the fact that it's slower than the 450's and just go out there and have fun on it anyway.

Now to get some immediate joy, I would also put a 1 tooth larger front sprocket on. You will lose some low end. A new higher compression piston, maybe a big bore kit can help buy back that low end if you feel the need. CHoose the compression carefully based on what grade gas you wish to run.

Agree with Raptor450. Enjoy the Warrior for what it is. Keep in mind, taller gearing will not necessarily get your faster speed as the motor has to work harder to pull the gearing. When I had mine, I had taller gearing for casual trail rides (fuel efficiency) and shorter gearing for sand pits / tight trails and ripping about.
