Default sportsman 500 unusual spark problem

I have a 1999 sportsman 500. I purchased not running, was told it needed a stator, replaced stator, pickup coil, ignition coil, ignition switch, spark plug and disconnected speedo as some on here suggested on other threads. the stator was full of water when I pulled it out, flywheel magnets still strong. What I get is bright blue spark as I turn off the ignition switch. it will give me a bright arc everytime as the switch is killed and that is the only time so I replaced the ignition thinking maybe was problem but not. I did try my friends CDI his is same and made no difference either . Does this make sense to anyone? Any help or ideas would be appritiated. Thanks Adam

I have also unplugged the black wire from cdi box as some have suggested. I get one spark as ignition switches to off position.

Sounds like you've addressed about everything, but see if this could be the same thing that happened to this member. All it takes is for the pick up to be out a little from the flywheel to cause problems.http://forums.atvconnection.com/pola...ml#post3155476
