Default my custom built scrambler 500/outlaw irs build

title says it all. i meshed together a 2002 scrambler 500 4x4 frame and a 2008 outlaw 500 IRS frame. so now my scram has IRS! it rides like a dream. this is how polaris should have made the newer scrambler models instead of just redesigning new plastics.

ill start posting progress build pics:

bought a brand new rear drive line. i had to swap the rear sprocket to the right side and shim it about 3/8" to align it with the tranny drive sprocket.

welded on some mounting tabs for the scrambler plastics and it was finally starting to look like a scrammy.

i bought an HMF can from ebay and had to modify the inlet pipe slightly to make it fit thru the frame. went to a local exhaust shop and had them bend tome stainless tubing to match my pro circuit pipe that i previously had installed on the scrammy. had a buddy who tig welds stainless pipe for a living, weld it up for me.

Awesome one of a kind machine! If I hadn't turned a hobby into a job I would have loved to have done something like this. Except my attempts at welding liked a lot to be desired... Send some pics to Polaris in Medina, who knows what may happen..

Awesome. Not only do you own a one of a kind custom ATV but you have the pride of building it yourself.

Love it.
I like the other details as well, like you winch position (cable out of nose) ,center pipe ,speedo cluster and mean looking headlights.

Wow!!! That looks great. I always liked how the Outlaw looked and that you had lots of adustability on the rear IRS. Didn't have a lot of use for 2wd on the rough trails in New England. I imagine you got this made for a ton less than the new 850 Scrambler costs. Very nice!

The Scrambler 850 is just a XP850 with sporty plastic and no racks.
Take the plastics and bumpers off both machine and no one would know which is which.

I think the Scrambler 850 has better shocks but nothing else different.
