can anyone tell me how to adjust the idle mixture on an 04 330 magnum.i don't even see a mixture screw.it seems very lean.i have to feather the throttle through a flat spot for the first mile or so then its ok.until then its hard not to stall it.thanks

A lot of 325 and 330 engines were cold natured, some even more than others because of being set too lean from the factory. Worst one I found was a 325 Trail Boss that had to use the choke to take off until warm. Pulled the block off plug and found the fuel/air screw closed versus normal 1 1/2- 2 turns out. Take the carb out of the intake manifold, turn it over and in front of the fuel bowl is a round block off plug. Use a 1/8" drill and CAREFULLY drill through this plug, stop immediately when it goes through or you can damage the screw underneath. Use a dry wall screw and just wiggle the plug out.Turn the screw clockwise counting the turns to a lightly seated position. Most I've found were set around 1/2 to 3/4 turn out (too lean) with the exception of the one that was closed. You can set it and initial 2 turns out and after running you can fine tune it if necessary with a small screw driver or carb tool designed for this. After this, the choke should hardly be needed except on cold days and warm up time should be cut in half.
