just finished reading several posts about 3 light mod.i have 04 sportsman 400
...one poster said pin 30 on relay goes to green polaris wire
...another said pin 30 goes to hot on 12v outlet
and here I thought i had it figured out, which is right,I thought pin 30 was always 12v supply for the relay
...maybe it works both ways

If in doubt just get the mod kit. 9 bucks with instructions. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polaris-Sportsman-3-way-High-Low-Headlight-mod-500-600-700-750-800-HO-Explorer-/261272747914?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3cd511bf8a

not where I live OPT,its a small fortune to ship it here what with duty and all, besides,I have all I need, even got the spades connected to the relay leads, tee spices ready to go,tube of di-electric grease, just want to be clear on that darn 30 pin on relay,do you have any idea which post is correct?

yes thats the schematic I was looking at,and with my admittedly limited knowledge of relays I do know that #30 pin is power supply,so it would have to go to the hot wire on the 12v outlet, sound right to you?
..and where did you get the cool avatar, lol?

Quadovator make a 3-light mod that uses a diode. No relay. Just splice the diode into two wires and you're done. 3 Headlight Mod Polaris ATV Lamps Kits Accessories Quad Parts Custom I used similar kits from Montana Jack's but found out Quadovator is half the price.

It was my understanding that the mod using the diode is hard on the factory switch, either way I made my own using a 7 dollar relay, works great, but thanks for you input.
