Default sp 700 efi died

i took my 05 700 sp out, been running fine, turned it off, went hunting for 2-3 hours, came back and was completely dead, when key placed in on position got nothing, no lights, no indication of life at all, thought it was battery due to loose positive terminal screw, attempted to jump, still nothing, battery seems to be fine after checking, at a loss at this point where to proceed, any thoughts.

If you've had the battery load tested and connections are tight, don't over look the fuse block itself for loose wiring. Has a 20 amp resetting main power fuse, but you can pull the fuse block up to check the connections. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Cool

Thanks for the reply OPT, is this one of the fuses in the group of four under the high beam headlight? I attempted to check and cannot by looking at them, because they are all black.

You have to pull the black fuse block up to check the wiring going to the connectors. This is where we found a lot of shorts, loose wiring on the 700 and 800 efi machines.

Recall didn't apply to efi machines, just carb models.

Not if it's an EFI machine,it has a regulator/rectifier,not an ecm module.

I had the same problem only i bumped the fuses while trying to put the plastics back on. Once i looked in the fuse block it was badly corroded i had to hold the fuse just right for it to have power. I had a friend just separate the 4 different fuses with yellow weather resistant inline fuses completely removing the block and now is fine. A new block comes with the harness and was expensive considering it was only about $20 for fuse holders and heat shrink connectors, oh and the mcdonalds and case of beer for my friend to fix it. I gave him the beer after it was complete

Good luck

Unhappy

had some time this evening to pull off some plastic and get at the wiring. no sign of corrosion, loose or poor connection(s). i don't have the knowledge or the tools to diagnosis electrical issues, would it be worth it to replace any or all of the fuses or just the two 20 amp?
