ATV Action Magazine??? What's up?

Did anyone see the latest dual between the Honda 450ES and the Polaris Magnum 425?? The whole test as they say was very close, but in the end the Honda edged out the Polaris, that is Bull. They based there decision on nothing at all, it was just by what they felt not by the true stats.

Yep thats what they always do If it ain,t a Honda don,t expext ATV magazine to award it anything. When another brand does whip the wheels off of one of their beloved Jap quads and they are forced to award the win to one of the other brands they write the last part of the article where they announce the winner like its killing them to do it never seen a more biased ATV publication. They need to take lessons from Dirt Wheels . They seem to be more consistent at picking winners based on facts and not their "Test riders" brand loyalties.

Last month on a test by itself the Expidition got a 5 star rating. This time it only got a 4 and they mentioned that. What the heck is that about? Also, they gave the edge to the Honda because of past reliability. I thought they were comparing these two quads here & now. Not "past" ones.
They just can't admit Polaris makes a better quad.

I have been reading atv action and DW for a couple of years now. The only polaris to EVER win a shoot out that I remember is the sportsman. The magazines are published by the same company. If you notice, when dirtwheels tests a quad or has a shootout atv action tests the same quad and has the same shootout alot of the time. I personally think honda owns a big part of the publishing company. Honda ALWAYS wins. A few months ago the magazine LOVED the 425 and said it had a sportier ride than the sport and the scamblers. They also said it shifted as good as a HONDA. But in head to head competition, the honda always wins. The magazine has something against POLARIS. Just because polaris is innovative and builds better quads every year (instead of not changing them for 12 years like the banshee and warrior), dirtwheels thinks they are DIFFERENT machines. They are different machines, they are better machines. Polaris has the largest lineup of any atv manufacturer. I wonder how many pictures of the 400ex have been in the two magazines since its release. About a million!! I personally am sick of seeing the 400ex. Honda stuck with its same old boring lineup since 1989. No sport machine (unless you call the 300 a sport). Dirtwheels even picked the wolverine as the sportiest 4x4. Do you believe that. The shaft driven, 10 year unchanged, full time 4x4, no wheelie, underpowered, heavy yamaha beat out both scramblers. Unbelievable. I'm surprised they didn't pick the foreman as sportiest 4x4. The only magazine that gives polaris a little respect is atv sport. Dirtwheels loves honda so much that a couple of years ago they picked the 300ex as the best sport machine. Do you believe that. The 300ex beat out the warrior and the polaris sport. The sport came in like 4th behind the 2nd warrior and I even think the dated Kawie 250 mohavie. Once again true to honda. Its obvious that the sport is the best sport machine. Its obvious that the scramblers are the best sport 4x4's. Its also obvious that in no way is the foreman the best utility quad. I think the foreman might be third or fourth. It doesn't haul or tow as much as any of the polaris utilities. Its slower and has less ground clearance. I just do not understand. Give polaris the respect they deserve. I admit polaris is not perfect, but at least they are trying. Sorry I am rambling on this topic, but this really upsets me. If I see another 400ex I'm gonna PUKE. You can bet that when the next high performance shootout comes along the 400ex will beat out the sport, banshee, and even the bomb 650. Give me a break dirtwheels. The main reason I read the magazine is to see what ignorant comment they have about polaris, or what unbelievable comment that have about honda. I don't even think they test the quads.
GO POLARIS
ps Bill, we don't want to hear what NEGATIVE comment you may have. Go to the honda forum and bash polaris.

Keith your point is well made too.I understand your not wanting to hear this everyday as well. But when certain Idiots in here make negitive and foolish remarks about me being the fault of my quad problems,I will respond.I will try and tone it down. But new Quad buyers will definatly hear the down side of my experience with Polaris, just the same way they hear the good things from some of you guys. Its the only way to REALLY inform new buyers of ALL experiences, good or bad.I get some satisfaction out of knowing I prevented some poor sucker the POSSIBLE future headache of dealing with a Industry and Dealer who cares little for their buying customers.Enjoy your day---Bill

Hey guys, I'm not here to bash Polaris. I'm just here to join the conversation. I don't think that the Polaris quads are going to get respect until they "Prove" themselves. What I mean is. Look in racing. Any kind of racing. Everyone always favors the winner, right? Well, on the track. 250r's, 400EX's and Banshee's rule right now. When a Polaris Sport starts winning races. It will then get the respect of a top notch sport quad. But until then, everyone is going to just follow the bandwagon around(including DirtWheels). There not much that you can do but grin and bear it.
As far as the Sportsman vs. 450ES. I'm not going to go there. I have not riden either quad. So who know's?

Bill; could you at least tell us what town this dealer is in so at least your nieghbors wont go there. I agree with you that the dealer service stinks from the little I,ve heard from you about it. I went to the dealer search on the Polaris web site and found a few in the general area of Burton Michigan (a total of 5 within 20 miles so you see its hard to pick one)where you are from could you narrow it down for us. I have relatives out there and would like to find out if they are using the same dealer as you if they are I want to warn them of your experiences. They have 3 Polaris Quads and they might still have their snowmobile they had talked about getting rid of it because they never ride it anymore. You don,t have to give the name just the town or something.
