Does anyone have a gas cap with a fuel gauge built in on their Sport 400 or Scrambler? There are 2 different ones available from Polaris. A 3.2 gal and a 3.8 gal. I ordered the one for the 3.8 gal tank as my Sport 400 has a 4.0 gal tank on it. (stock)

This gauge is incorrect. It threads on ok but is not long enough to reach the bottom if the tank. I did however place it on my 91 Trail Boss tank and it works fine there. I was under the impression that the Trail Boss and the Sport 400 have the same size tanks. 4.0 gal.

If anyone has one on their ATV, look on the gauge and see what the capacity rating is on the gauge. It will either say 3.2 or 3.8 I think. I want a gauge for my 96 Sport 400, please help.

Thx. Keith

Keith, I have a fuel gauge on my 99 Scrambler 400 and it reads 3.8 I haven't had any problems with it so far. I'm sure there is some degree of inaccuracy but overall I think it does a good job of giving you an idea as to how much fuel there is in your tank.

Good Luck

Polaris really screwed up on the fuel guages. The 3.8 is right for the 4 gallon, the 3.2 is right for the 3.5 gallon, and I don't know what they use on the 5 gallon.

On my 3.5 gallon tank, I still had over 1 gallon left when it said I was on reserve. I gave it away to a friend. I wish there was an acurate guage!
