Sportsman 335 / 400 jetting
#1
So heres the deal -
I have a 2000 Sportsman 335, It has a "stage one" jet kit in the carb, motors siezed (not stuck, but very stiff to pull over). From what im told, right after the jet kit was installed, according to the directions, it ran with a super high idle, and then began to die at low RPM and then bump up the throttle and it would continue to run if you held the throttle to a higher RPM. The machine was shut off to adjust the mixture screw, went to start the machine back up and the starter was whining and the motor wouldn't start, Which now brings me to this point. Anyways, The directions with the jet kit from "dyno jet" list the jets and settings to use for this wheeler, with the mixture screw set at 3 turns out. I am putting in a 2002 Sportsman 400 motor, which uses the same carb, but im not sure that the carb even needs a jet kit as the wheeler only has a K&N filter with a stock exhaust that is staying on the quad. I am thinking ill put the stock jets back in, which I have, but not sure what settings to use for the needle, and fuel mixture. So, long story short, what are the OEM jet settings for a 2002 Sportsman 400?
