Is Bombardier/Sea Do going to make that 400cc twin 2-stroke that I heard about?

Anyone heard anything on this? This is one quad that I would be interested in. I am so tired of all these "new flavor of the week 4-strokes" None of them are as fast as pre production reported. I want something with some ba11s. I want someone to make a new 2-stroke other than Polaris making another land yacht with a 2-stroke and daring to call it a sport quad.

My dealer here in Quebec, Canada said there were serious rumors going around among the dealers. He spoke of a smaller engine, lighter machine. Two-stroke twin...now that would be nice! All there sleds are two-stroke and they are a pretty innovative company so anythings possible.

There is one thing that could make 2-strokes viable with the emmission laws, namely the Orbital Engine Companies Fuel Injection and combustion process.

Bombardier-Rotax already use this technology with their marine 2 strokes in jet skis and boats, as do several of the larger outboard manufacturers.

Orbital also have a heap of Ford Festivas with 1200cc 2-strokes, running around Perth (West Australia), had the priveledge of driving one, a mate works at Orbital, which is 2 mins from where I work. The thing is a screaming MONSTER, way fast, massive torque, low fuel consumption.

If ever they produce a 2 stroke 600cc twin it would be a feral beast.

No2strokeBS, we need to hang out, you and me are a couple of the only honest people on here, recognize a bike for what it is. These 4strokes ARE INFIERIOR to our 1980s technology 2strokes, plain and simple.A new 2stroke would completly bend every single ATV over and have its way.The technology is called direct injection, it reduces emissions to less than some 4strokes, IE 426, that technology will be implemented in snowmobiles within the next 3 years and could possibly make its way to ATVs. Keep your hands folded and maybe, just maybe we can get a new REAL high performance quad.

Maybe, not any time soon I don't think.(for 400 twin) I was told the new 650 4x4 will be out this summer sometime. There are many possibilties though. Bombardier also now owns OMC's FICHT (fuel injection system)so they have the means to fuel inject anything now. Also, some European motorcycles use 500cc V-Twin Rotax engines that have the potential to put out 110+ HP @ 13,000 RPM. I get morning wood just thinking about the possiblities.

I saw the rev bike on Speedvision. It looked pretty good. I hope they do better than other companies who have tried to do the 2-stroke thing. Anybody on here who follows the 2-wheel street crowd might remember Bimota, a hi-po bike building company out of Italy. In 1996, they had a 2-stroke bike which was supposed to be the next big thing. It injected off the top of the piston, using the heat of the piston to further enhance the combustion process. It was coming with a lot of fanfare, but many bugs and problems with the mapping killed the bike and eventually the company. While I believe 2-strokes could kick serious butt, there seems to be a limit to what they can do as far as emissions. Hopefully some company can eventually get around this and bring a new 2-stroke which will please everybody. I know Arctic Cat just started building 4-stroke sleds to appease the greens. If a company can build a 2-stroke sport quad which can make those idiots grudgingly approve it, that company will corner the market.

I don't know about the 2 stroke Bimota bike that you talked about, but Bimota is still up and running as a company. As a matter of fact, they produce a bike that shares our 650cc Rotax motor and I have a couple of riders that I deal with through Team Pami. I just thought I'd clear up the record if anyone cared about Bimota.
