I was riding my Raptor today and decided to try it with the air box lid off. Before I put on my exhaust, jet kit and ignition advance I had tried taking off the lid and it bogged alot so I figured I would need to rejet so I just put it back on and didn't bother. But I tried it today with my other mods done now and I think it ran even better, but there's one problem, which is my question. How do I keep the air filter from shaking loose with the lid off??? I still have the stock air filter and assembly which the lid helps to hold on. When I take off the lid and ride around the filter pops off and doesn't stay in the front covering the intake. How do you guys that have the lid off stop this?? Or if you have any ideas, let me know, THANKS.

Hate to tell you what to buy, but the Pro Design filter is a good investment. I run mine with the PD kit and no lid and it runs a lot better with the lid off than on. I also have full exhaust and a 14 tooth front. It pulls the 14 tooth front better thatn it pulled the 13 while it was stock. My jetting is 165, 170 with 27.5 pilots.

The lid has to be on at all times with the stock filter unless you want to waste your engine. The lid is what holds the filter in place. The only work around is to get the pro design filter kit for about $100.

I used two screws at the top of the filter to hold it in place. Just drill to small holes in the corners and screw the filter to the airbox. Works great didn't cost me $100.

How did you get your sparks key in? I have one and been waiting to get the mag puller and holder tools from Yahama for a month, still haven't got them. Did you find some other tools that would work. As for the airbox, RaptorAz has a good idea, just screw it in.

Thx
