Default front strut rubber bump stop

I'm putting new front springs on and was wondering where I should place the bump stop on the strut upon reassembly. Slid it up to top or put it at the base of the rod? Or does it matter?

Really doesn't matter as it will move around from wherever you install it at. Some I've found close to the top on tear down, others at the bottom. I just slid em all the way down on the cartridge when I reinstalled em.
