Hi guys,
I'm looking at 2 big bear 400s No.1 03 2wd drive needs tires, nice shape.
No.2 02 4wd drive nice shape needs battery and r brakes.
I plan on plowing in winter and hauling wood and playing with it.
Price is about 700.00 difference. Any pro or cons on this quad? Will putting
chains help the 2wd drive in winter? 700.00 savings, I would buy a set of
chains. Thanks in advance.

 

I'd get the 4x4. The nice thing is that 02 was the first year that selectible 4x4 was offered on the Big Bear. All models before that were full-time 4x4. If you're going to plow snow with it, you're probably going to need 4x4. And when you don't need it, you can switch it back to 2wd for less demanding terrain.
