when warm atv wont start /is it 2/4 stroke
#2
Do you have to premix the gas or does it have an oil injector with an oil reservoir, then it's 2 stroke.
If it's straight gas, then it's 4 stroke. If it's this one pictured in this link, then it's a 4 stroke.

Sounds like the carb is running too lean, is it getting real hot after a few mins? Counter clock on the air/fuel screw will richen it.

So when you turned it clock or counter, it did not change the way it idled? It should try and shut down or speed up. If none of that happens, take your carb apart and clean it.

sorry yes it did alter the idle on quad when adjusted but still when drive for long time it starts to choke up and cut out then..its like it stops getting petrol to engine as when u push the trottle u can feel it going/chokeing and then cuts out if leave to cool will start but not until its completely cold

Yeah, you need to sort the overheating first. I still think it's running lean. What is your elevation? I know main jets are hard to find for chinese carbs, but you might want to try and make the main jet hole slightly larger to get more fuel. You can also try and move the needle clip down to give the midrange more fuel.
I take it that this is a non watercooled quad.
