I wonder what changes, if any, will be made with the new year's model. Maybe some of the bugs will get worked out, maybe not. 3 months, hmmm,,, Anybody know anything??? This is our last chance to get a decent price on one, $6400.
Rio Yamaha in las Cruces has two for $7500, ouch!

I have not heard any news on next years model, but past history is the best indication of future performance. I highly doubt Yamaha will change a thing on the Raptor except maybe "bold new graphics". The blaster has never been changed in over 10 years of production and look at the banshee; the poor airbox design and chain adjustment has never been corrected. I am not picking on Yamaha, Honda and the other manufactures are just as guilty of not making updates on their ATV's while the dirt bikes get the latest technology each year.

I lost second gear on mine, they are replacing it with a "bulletproof" gear. I would think the 2002 would have the new gear, and save a month and counting at the dealership. When mine blew it took out everything but the side cases and the head. good luck....

blodg500rx i agrre with you.if you want the companys to do changes or come out with new products.stop buying them 10 year old designs.these company are making tons of money off the same product ,with no changes except graphics ,color, more people own quads then they do dirt bikes ,but yet the redisgn the dirt bikes every year.STOP BUYING 10 YEAR OLD CRAP.FORCE THEM TO GIVE US NEW QUADS.THEY OVER CHARGE US FOR THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE.THIS IS MY OPINION ANY WAYS
