thermostat housing

im bout to change out my thermostat housing for one from quadovator with a temp sending unit in it and was wondering if theres a o ring that seals it up or do i use gasket maker on it ?

If it's an exact replacement for the Polaris housing,the rubber diaphragm/o-ring of the thermostat itself is the seal for the cover.
