Default Are all YFM's the same?

I have a 89 YFM250w. I was wondering what the W means and will the exhaust off any yfm250 work? Some YFM250s are Raptors and other things. I'm trying to buy parts but hard to find stuff for an 89

Careful Yamaha made two different 250 motors. 229.6cc
Bore x Stroke 71 X 58mm and 249cc 74 x 58 mm Bore and Stroke.

These guys may have your parts.

Seems like the Newer Bear Tracker has the same motor since the clylinder have the same part number as your 1989.

So do you think a recoil off a bear tracker would work on my moto 4? lol. I'm thinking yes

Most likely Yamaha has the same recoil on many different ATVs ,just look up you recoil part# in the link above and search other models for the same recoil to make sure.
The pull starter on my 2001 Polaris Sportsman ATV is the same one on my buddy's Polaris 1993 Snowmobile.

Not much you can do. I had a 87 250 Moto4 , in top gear it just revved high but only did 40mph.
My 350 does not like getting pushed over 45mph. They are what they are, a trail ATV not a high speed road mileage eater.

That looks like the one I had but mine was red. They even have a low range sub tranny. Are those 26" Tires?
If you want more performance get 25" rears and 24" fronts.
