Default 1998 honda fourman

I have a 1998 foreman 400 4x4. here is my problem, I will be riding and after 10 to 15 mins. it shut off. I wait 10 to 15 min and it will restart, start riding again and 10 t0 15 mins. of riding and it shut down again. I looked and cleaned out the tank, inspected the pet **** and carb, all looked good. I was told maybe the ecm/ecu. I need help don't know which way to go.
Thanks

Is atv charging system working? if over charging cdi could get hot from to many volts? Is fuel tank fuel cap or vent line venting? When atv stops loosen cap real quick an see if starts back up...Also becareful on this,,ease the fuel line off for an sec to see if fuel in flowing out line whaen engine quits...Just afew ideals.

Yes, sounds like an electrical component overheating or the fuel tank vapor locking. If you can hear air rushing into the tank when you open the gas cap quick, the vent for the fuel tank likely has mud and gunk clogging it.

Run it without the gas cap on and see if it still does it.

Have an extra plug when this happens. Pull the plug cap, ground the new plug to the engine and crank it over to see if you have spark. One way to tell if it's an electrical problem or not when it gets hot.
