A lot of times the thermister sensor on the oil cooler can short out and cause the fan to run constantly. It completes the ground path through the thermister module for the fan to kick on. You can ohm out the sensor. Should show some resistance when cold, resistance drops as it gets warmer. If it zeros out on the meter when cold, likely it's the problem. Also the module itself can short out internally and basically do the same thing. Some people ended up having to replace both which is expensive. The manual has the specs on checking this system out. Might be best to have it before you do anything. Here's one for 10 bucks.http://visit.tradebit.com/visit.php/...75/264163829/9 The thermister module is right next to the regulator you replaced. Like I mentioned these parts are high dollar. Here's the sensor from ebay.

One other option that some have done is to run a toggle on the fan hot wire and kick it on when under loads or slow operation. PLUS these fans rarely ever kicked on to begin with unless super hot. A lot of other machines are air and oil cooled and don't have fans.Toggle switching the fan is one option that I would highly consider if this 15 year old machine was mine.

If it's a problem with a Polaris go to either the regular Polaris page or the ask an expert page. There's a button near the top on the left side that says "new thread". Click on that to start a new thread. All the other sections of the forum work the same way.
