Default 400 counterbalance bearing removal

doing a bottom end rebuild on scrambler 400 and was wondering how to get the gear off the counterbalance to replace the big bearing. I don't have a press so I was wondering how you guys take it apart, and if I can do it with hand tools?

First off you have to have the puller to remove the counter balancer from the engine or make one like this poster did. https://atvconnection.com/forums/pol...ce-puller.html One place to check on the puller is here also.Polaris
The gear has to be pressed off with a good press to get to the bearing. Or once the counter balancer is out you can send it in to have it rebuilt. Places like this can help.Polaris 350L 400 Counterbalance Service w P Bearing and Seals Included | eBay Here's the puller to remove it from the engine case.
