When I saw the thread title I thought a 500 pound winch isn't good for anything. Then when I saw it was 5,000 pounds I realized it would be good on a SxS.

 

The claim of the the synthetic rope being 15x stronger than steel sounds a bit exaggerated. I had a winch on my other grizzly with synthetic rope and yes I liked it but it was only slightly stronger than steel. I liked that it was lighter and you never had to worry about slicing your hand with a frayed steel cable.

 

I heard that synthetic rope isn't as bad to be around if it ever breaks. Anyone here ever break one?
