2001 Bayou 220 Front Camber
#1
Has anyone had any luck addressing the ridiculous amount of camber (this direction \ /) in the front wheels on the Bayou 220? I have seen a couple of possible fixes but I was hoping that someone had some more detail. The Kawi dealers/service departments I have talked to really don't want to have anything to do with it because "that's how it was designed". I know the front end should compress a bit with a rider on it, but I am 165lbs and it barely moves. My son is much lighter so the issue remains. I have already replaced the shocks with good used units because one of the old ones had a bolt welded across the coils and was mounted upside down. The frame and A-arms are straight. Aftermarket shock options are pretty much non-existent, and the ones that are out there are worth more than the machine itself. Is there a shock from another machine (Kawi or otherwise) that is shorter and/or softer? I would appreciate any info or suggestions anyone might have. Thanks!

The camber you mention...unless the ATV is damaged is how they come when they are new. I have purchased two of these new. Nice little ATV's, run forever....and good power for what they are ( 45 mph top speed...or so ). Do you think/feel it's unsafe? See link below, there are some "wear" items that can make the camber a little worse.

I like the ATV as well. It's not damaged from what I can tell, although it has lived a pretty hard life until I bought it. Other than that it is a great machine, with cheap parts and it's easy to work on. I was just hoping that someone has come up with a solution to level out the camber a bit.
