SO ACCORDING TO ALL THE POST I'VE READ ABOUT THE RAPTOR'S PROBLEMS
IT SEEMS IT'S NOT ALL THAT RELIABLE AT FIRST HUH.
LIGHT FRONT ENDS--WINDS THROUGH GEARS TOO FAST--NEEDS A SIXTH GEAR--SOMETHING ON THE CYLINDER BUSTING LOOSE--
GIVE ME FEED BACK

Hello there cheeksaflappin....maybe I can explain the issues you brought up
Question-Front end too light?
Answer-the front end is not too light, when compared to the 400ex, the 400ex wheelies easier and has less weight on the front end than the Raptor...the Raptor front end stays put on the same hills that the 400ex wheelies on (have to get out of the gas to steer the 400ex).
Question-winds through gears too fast / needs 6th gear.
Answer-the Raptor has a very broad power curve matched by a very-very wide ratio transmission. The Raptor has the same primary gearing as the overseas bike that the engine is derived from (primary reduction ratio of 2.08...much lower than the usual "performance" gearset).
4th gear on the Raptor is 1.047/1 and 5th gear is .904/1 (this gearing resembles the Banshee in 5th and 6th) where 5th gear for the 400ex is 1.05/1. Given this info., you should see that the Raptor is geared tall and wide....oppisite of what you were informed of.
I don't have a clue about the last question.
P.S. - I used the 400ex as an example because the Raptor matches up with the 400ex in a lot of caterogories + the 400ex is very popular and I rarely hear of anyone complaining about these problems on the 400ex.
