Default 95 polaris xplorer 400

I have a question.. I want to take my quad on the sand and I bought paddle tires for the rear and front sand tires for the front. my question is can I remove the front or center chain since the tires are not exactly the same height?? Is there a quick link to take chain off or which would be preferable so it is technically a 2 wheel drive?? I don't want to have binding and I bought the same size tires but they are not exactly the same heighth.. I only plan on going to sand a couple times a year but don't want to break it.. I realize the hilliard clutches could engage but I could unhook ground wire or something so that don't happen, worst case scenario if they did lock,,, without a chain turning them it shouldn't hurt anything.. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated..

Still no guarantee that one side or the other hubs couldn't still lock in mechanically and cause problems or possibly even injury if it locks up hard enough. My two cents is to have this system working properly as it should and you won't have to worry about removing chains or disconnecting power to the hubs.

the biggest paddle tires i could find were 22" so i bought 22" front tires for it but after being mounted to new rims the front tires appear to be a little taller. maybe half inch or so. wont that bind the chains if in 2 wheel drive or is there enough clearance to have that size difference?. thats why i wanted to pull a chain so that they didnt bind. thank you for answering me
