Default Problems with 1999 sportsman atv

I have a 1999 sportsmanthat was given to my girlfriend at a really cheep price Not sure if it's the fuel pump or carb not getting fuel to carb. ..cleaned all lines and carb and pump.. electronic start button is not working so only has pull start..but lines from tank to carb it will run and drive ..but when put lines back the way they should go seams like no fuel is getting to carb..can I bypass fuel pump it's not electric..and run it with lines from tank to petcock..also is there a way to bypass start button on handlebars to check if it's the electric start button or the starter motor itself..any information would be helpful..thank you

Don't bypass the fuel pump as the lowest part of the tank is lower than the carb, the reason for the fuel pump to begin with.Fuel pumps are cheap for this machine if needed.Fuel Pump for Polaris Sportsman 400 500 600 Magnum 325 Outlaw 450 Predator ATV | eBay The battery and starter solenoid have to be good along with the main circuit breaker located up from the battery. If it faults no power can reach the left control switch. A good meter or test light can tell if the solenoid is getting power along with transmitting it to the starter. You can always cross the solenoid posts to see if the starter turns over or not. Save a lot of hair pulling and throwing parts at one with a good service manual. It has electrical trouble checks for almost every area of the machine.http://visit.tradebit.com/visit.php/...75/264163430/9
