FAN MOTOR
#2
Were you around any water at all? Did you check the fuses? Pull your seat off, the fuse box is right there along the frame on the right hand side. The fan fuse could very easily have blown. If this is the case, it's a simple, inexpensive fix, and might save you a trip to the dealer.
Good luck,

I have had the same problem with my 2000 AC 500a
I recently installed a fan switch. You can do it without cutting the factory harness. There is a connector that is pretty common in the auto parts world located directly behind the fan. Pick up one at your local auto parts store and fabricate a harness and switch. NO MORE DEEP WATER FAN PROBLEMS FOR ME!!!

Thanks for the replies. Fuse did not blow. I checked at connector with meter it has power, fan turns freely appears to have an open winding. No
water involved. still under warranty, will call dealer & have them get a new motor. Probably will install cut off switch while I have the plastic
off.

Seems like more poeple should have had the same problem with continuosly running fans in deep water/mud. I just bought a '01 500 AC auto. After reading these posts, Im worried. Guess I should get a switch installed too. Not the most mechanically inclined guy in the world. Is is difficult to do? How do I know what to pick up at the hardware store?
