Default 2003 Polaris Magnum 330 Compression and Cranking issues

I purchased this Quad a while back and it is extremely hard to crank in the mornings or when it has been sitting for a few hours. Once i get it to crank and warm it up it cranks immediately with no issues. i have also run SEAfoam in the gas for a while. Did a compression test and it is Around 60 65. Any Suggestions?

Compression is good considering the decompression device on the cam. Pull the fuel line from the carb and crank the engine over. Should be a steady stream of fuel from the pump. If fuel is weak pumps are cheap on ebay for the 330. Plus check that the tank vent and carb atmospheric vents are clear and open. Some 325s had a problem on cold starting along with a few 330s. You may have to pull the carb(might as well rebuild it if you do) pull the block off plug covering the pilot fuel screw adjuster and check how many turns in to a lightly seated position. I've found several 1/2 turn out and one completely closed that were cold blooded on starting. Should be around 2 turns out from a lightly seated position. Also check the choke **** free play. If excessive, could be part of the hard cold starting. You can take up play at the carb. Loosen the cable lock nut and turn the adjuster out to take up choke **** slack then tighten the lock nut.

Hey thanks for the reply what exactly is a Block off Plug, I have taken The Carb Completely out of The ATV.. I have found a Pretty Massive hole In the rubber hose from the carb going to the breather Box, Im not sure how significant that is , or even if that could cause More starting issue, again Thankyou for the help, More suggestions please ,

Sounds like that's your problem. These machines were lean enough as is. They were also jetted with the air box and filter in mind and sealed. Any air leak between it and the air box just makes it even leaner and hard to start. Replace any worn parts and see how it does.2003 Polaris MAGNUM 330 4X4 (A03CD32AA/AB/AC/FB) Air Box | Cycle Parts Warehouse
