On my dash it flashes EFI and the speedometer goes up and down about 7 times. I can start it and the it flashes efi small under the clock on the display.. can't get any codes or find anything in the manual

I am having the same problem.
the problem is simple enough, turn on the key and after a few seconds it begins flashing EFI and sweeping from 0 to 110. now, this is a Carbureted bike with very few sensors, which all are plugged in. The bike was just rebuilt and now does this. belt is fine as well.The carbs have been cleaned and it runs great. Stater is charging 14.35. I have put a battery charger on the bike while it does this, it will do this no matter how charged the battery is.
I have read lots of forums and non show how to get the codes from this bike or how to clear them. if anyone has the info plz help.

 

Have your battery tested.. It may have a internal issue and cannot supply a constant voltage to the machine. Ggot me puzzled why a carb machine would flash EFI

 

I think 2007 was the first year for the 700 EFI. BTW, I've seen batteries that looked great, but when you put a load , they fell on there azz. I'd still try a known good battery, just for kicks.
