I put a white spring on my 2001 T Boss. I really can't tell much difference. I can get an occassional wheelie now if I hold the brake hit the throttle and scoot back. Otherwise it wasn't worth the trouble. BK

BK, how much trouble was it to change the spring. My father in law owns a Trail Boss and we are deciding now if it worth cracking open that big plastic "PVT" cover. Is it a pain to change the spring? Can it be done in an afternoon? Thanks.

It is not very hard and can be done in less than an hour. On the Trail Boss it is a lot easier to take off the back fenders first to give plenty of room to get to everything. You just take off the cover (gently so you don't mess up the rubber gasket), pull the small bolts and then the big center bolt off front pulley and there is the spring. While you have everything apart check belt and stuff for wear. Mine looked new after 5 months of use. The trickiest part of the whole operation is getting the gasket in right when re-assembling. You could probably do it without taking fenders off, but it was a lot easier to get to everything than it would have been otherwise. It is not hard or complicated at all. BK

Get the green spring $20. Mine will actually pull the front wheels fairly easy now. Call RCR "Ritter Cycle Racing" 618-644-3211 . Also get the air box modification kit. It took me 1 1/2 hours to install the spring and air box kit.

2000 Polaris Trailboss
DG alloy bumper(for a 400 scrambler)
K&N jet kit with filter.
RCR air box modification
RCR green spring
Oneal handle bars with scott grips
removed the rack
removed rear mud flaps
and trimmed the front mud flaps

Any one found an exhaust for one of these yet?
Let me know

Dealer has white spring for $20. I just got back from Wayne NF and it really made a difference. I had much better takeoff in situations where I had to stop and start on steep hills. It made it better on the jumps and such as well. I have heard the green spring makes it a little harder to manage in tight stuff. The only thing negative I have experienced with the white was I have to use the reverse over ride all the time now due to higher rpm engagement. BK
