Default Tao Tao 125f won't change gears

My first post. Excited to join the community.

I purchased four TaoTao quads last year. For the most part we are happy with purchase.

Yesterday we were out riding and our TaoTao 125f wouldn't shift gears. It is stuck in a gear and it is very difficult to get it to change. It has the auto transmission where you shift without pulling in a clutch on the handle bars.

We changed oil thinking dirty oil or low oil was an issue. It was not the the issue. It runs fine but I can't change gears.

With a lot of trying I can sometimes get it to change gears to neutral, reverse or first. I can never get it over 2nd gear and most times I can't get it to change at all.

Is this a clutch issue?

Any ideas on how to resolve the issue?

Thanks

will it shift when not running? its more likely a internal issue. bent or damaged fork.

It shifts intermittently whether running or not. Most often it will not shift at all regardless of engine running or not.

When you say bent or damaged fork what are you referring to? A fork in the clutch?

Forks in the gear case to change the gears... clutch just gives you momentum.
