Default 04 LT80 Throttle Sticking

The throttle on the 04 LT80 i just bought for my kids is sticking pretty badly. I replaced a few parts in the carb recently and tried to adjust the cable but it seems like the cable is too long or almost 'stretched out'. When i visit most parts websites, they show two different part #'s for the throttle cable. Where can I find the model code for my lt80? Also, what other issues could cause the throttle to stick? Should I replace the 'recoil' spring for the throttle as well? Thanks in advance!

have you disconnected it and see how it moves without being in the machine?

Seems to work fine without the cable attached. With the throttle cable attached it seems like it is binding up or something inside the cable itself. Too much slack but cant adjust the screw enough to make it snug on the carb.

All model year LT80 are the same...there should be no confusion on a part number. Highly unlikely the cable is stretched as it's pulling a tiny slide with little spring tension.

Couple questions:
1) does the carb slide move freely in the carb? Many times the slide will have oxidation that can cause binding...it should look highly polished all around
2) is the throttle stock? If unsure post a pick and I'll let you know. I ask because my neighbor's LT80 had an aftermarket throttle - it was sticking and the cause was the throttle limiter screw.
3) confirm cable routing - If you don't have a manual get one...if you can't find one I'll send one to you...
4) ensure cable connections are correct at both slide & throttle.

There are two seperate part numbers on every part site i visit so there must be some difference in the two parts. Both are item number 8 on the handlebar diagram.

CABLE ASSY, THROTTLE | MODEL K2/K3/K4
58300-40B00

CABLE ASSY, THROTTLE | MODEL K5/K6
58300-40B10

Slide is brand new

it is a Stock Throttle and the throttle limit screw was removed

I would greatly appreciate a link to manual as I do not currently have one
4) ensure cable connections are correct at both slide & throttle.
Everything is back on the exact way it came off, not saying the previous owner didnt have something wrong though, ill verify once I can find a manual. Thanks!

I was able to get my hands on a service manual for the LT80. I also just realized the model number is most likely the year of the bike, so it should be a K4 since my lt80 is a 2004. I'm guessing part number 58300-40B00 is the correct one. Can anyone confirm if there is in fact a difference in the two parts?

Suzuki LT 80 Quad Sport, 1987-2006, Throttle Cable - LT80 | eBay

Like I said...the LT80 didn't really change much at all during its lengthy production run...not sure what a dealer wants, but $8 all in is reasonable from Ebay

got the suzuki oem cable ordered from partzilla.com for 9$ and some change. Also ordered the spring inside the throttle mechanism just because it was $1 and figured id replace it as well. I will update as soon as I receive the cable and get it installed. Thanks!

There is only 1 cable.
The cable routing is important. The cable binds if not in the correct position.
I feel the cable seems long maybe cuz the slide is not in correct (groove and pin).
