Polaris Predator 500 High Idle
#1
Hey guys, I have an 07 Predator 500 and I just put all new valve shims in the top end and had someone tear down and clean my carb. They did not replace anything just simply took everything apart, cleaned it, and put it back together to where everything was set before it was torn apart. Now when it starts up it idles high and I don't know how to bring it back down. I completely closed the pilot adjustment screw along with the idle screw, and there is no change in the idle. Nothing I try seems to bring the idle down. I am stumped on what it could be. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, broken, or missing.

Check the simple things first like throttle slack at the controls. Have at least 1/8" slack at the thumb throttle and see if that helps. If it doesn't you could have an air leak at the intake manifold or possible the guy didn't set the float right in the carb, cable binding, etc.
