Can I use a standard O ring (something from the local tractor supply) for the carb to cylinder gasket or does the O ring have to be made of material for a gasoline environment?

 

I Imagine any o-ring can work if you can get the right size.

When looking through the EOM exploded view of parts, I cannot find these two O rings.

 

There is only one o-ring. the reed cage has a o-ring built into it. Hopefully you didn't dig that out.

The reed cage is under cases not carb for some reason.

Haha! I saw the o ring in the reed cage, but, luckily did not try to dig it out!! I had no idea it was permanent.

I will give you a call this evening. Just picked up my step-son a 2004 LT80 last week. I think the original owner bought it and it has sit in the garage since. There is not even a scratch on the frame underneath. The second owner burnt up the starter trying to get it started. That is how I bought it and where I'm at today.
