Default Odes 170 utv

Hi, is anyone familiar with these? I have an ATV but my 2 boys want to come riding. This is the cheapest way to do it(likely the only one I can afford), but want to know if anyone has any experience with them.

With the size, power, and ground clearance I think you will find any of the mini utv to be underwhelming for an adult and child. How old are the kids? Your budget?

Hi, it will be my kids 11 and 7. No real budget trying to save up and looking at options.

11 is big enough to ride his/her own. A decent older mini should be doable for under 1k. 7 is usually a little email for a 90, but if they show interest then there are some 50 and 70cc machines out there too.

What type of ATV do you have? Where will you be riding? Terrain?

Thanks for your response scooter. I have a Polaris Sportsman 500. With my kids I only plan to ride rail trails, or general trails (no crazy hills, mud, etc). Really trying to find the cheapest way possible so they can come on the easy rides. I like the side by side because if we needed to we could double on my polaris while the kids drove the UTV.

The utv should work well for that. They really are to small for an adult. The new MSRP on that odes would translate into 2 nice used older Japanese or Taiwan made mini quads and some nice safety equipment though. Either way can work. Just remember none of these has much in ground clearance.

Thanks scooter.

Do you know anything about the reliability? I know its not a brand name, but with careful use and maintenance I hope to keep it a long time.

Dealer says its a 1 year warranty on these. Has anyone dealt with them before?

Odes is an American company but the machines are manufactured overseas. Early years had reliability issues, sounds like they have been getting better. Even the Polaris version of the mini utv have reliability issues from what I have seen. They are all pretty similar as far as design at least. Hopefully someone can chime in that owns one. Researching the Polaris mini RZR can give you some idea as to what to expect I would think.

My local dealer sells youth utvs like this too. I don't remember the brand name but its also a 170cc just like a Polaris Rzr. I doubt Polaris even builds the Rzr 170, its probably contracted out to another company and they just put their name on it. It happens with a lot of youth machines.
