Default Trx450r rolls forward when in gear and clutch pulled in need help

I tried adjusting the clutch cable as much as i could in both directions and the clutch still engages a little when im stopped and still in gear with the clutch pulled in. The quad wont idle on its own because the clutch engaging just that little bit makes it die after about 5 second when its in gear. If you rev it a little its fine but it gets annoying not being able to get it into neutral when its running because of the clutch engaging. Does this have somthing to do with the clutch or clutch springs its self? Any help is appreciated race season is 4 weeks away. Maybe its normal to have it engaging just a little bit im not really sure

Could be a few things. How old is that clutch? Has it gotten harder or easier to pull? What type of oil are you using in there? JASO rated?

I just use honda gn4 10w 30 in both sides. I believe thats reccomended for both sides i recall looking it up in the manual. And i just got it in the fall so i havent owned it long enough to say if the clutch is easier to pull or not

You need to inspect your clutch plates (fibers) and springs and determine if in spec...if not (and I'm guessing they are not), then they need to be replaced. You didn't mention the year of the machine...just that you got it in the fall...is it new?

You mentioned racing...has this been on the track before?

Good time to pick up a service manual. Clymers are usually ok, the Honda manual will be more $$ but also more detailed. Barring the clutch cable being slightly hung up, it is probably time to replace those clutch plates and springs. A 2005 check that basket carefully for wear grooves too. While I was at it I would throw a new cable on it also, but that is just me.
