Has anyone bought a new quad or bike over the phone or online and picked it up or had it shiped to you? I want to buy a new Yamaha WR250 bike and I'm starting to shop around. MSRP is $5,699 and I have been quoted $6,000 OTD at a local dealer. Any thoughts???

I bought my raptor over the phone out of state and I bought my 250r on e-bay and picked it up I drove 381 miles one way for the R! It will at least save you sales tax buying out of state.

It has worked OK for me so far.

Nov '00 - Found first quad online - local seller - '99 Big Bear 350 4x4 - $3k. Wife and I are officially hooked.

Feb '01 - Tax return - Found 2nd quad online - out of state dealer 2 1/2hrs away - saved $800 (local Atlanta dealers are jerks to newbies, they did not know about getting educated in these forums!)- '01 Big Bear 400 4x4 for wife (Now mine)

May '01 - Go to ATV safety course - Wife falls in love with '00 Kodiak there. Bad day for me.

Two weeks ago - Found 3rd quad online- out of state dealer 5hrs away - saved 1k below MSRP +400 taxes - met me at state line with the quad ($50)! 4hrs for him / 1hr for me! - '01 Kodiak 4x4 for VERY happy wife.

Compare - Compare - Good luck!
