Hello again I'm having an issue with my 1993 sportsman 400. The engine will not shut off with the key or the kill switch. The only way I can get engine to shutdown is by pulling choke. I was hoping someone could give me some insight on how to diagnose this issue. Thankyou in advance!!

 

Pull the tank plastic and side panel and check that the black kill wire from the cdi is hooked up to the terminal board. Same for the ignition and kill switch black wires. Terminal board is color coded.Sounds like someone has done some wire pulling if both the ignition switch and kill switch isn't working.The cdi kill circuit can short out and people have been known to leave the black wire unplugged rather than buy a new cdi also.
