has anyone else who has longer a-arms expierienced this. I put them on last night (finally) and rode for about 10 minutes around the yard and realized i dont really like them quite as much as i hoped i would. It made the front end bounce around when going through the gears really fast. The front end felt 10xs heaver when riding a wheelie. And when turning it felt so much stiffer.

If I were to buy a stabilizer, would this help it out big time?

did you buy new shocks for the arms? if the answer is no, then thats where the problem is. the stock shocks are not designed for the extra leverage the new arms create.

a new set of shocks set up for +3 arms should solve the problem.

Are they adjustable? Changing castor and camber and toe in/out can be more of a factor than the +3 a-arms themselves.

No i still have the stock shocks on. But how would the shocks affect my steeing and the handling? I dont really wanna buy aftermarket ones though so that would suck, well dont want to buy them right now atleast.

the arms are putting more leverage on the shocks..making them REALLY SOFT

so when you are going into a corner..its just diving down in the front...making it feel heavy..

thats why I just got the shocks and not the arms, because I'm on a budget. I would have liked to got the arms, but you got to do it right which cost cash.
I like the 400ex conversion kit for the 300ex though, its sweet!

derekhonda,

I will try to expain this so you can understand it. Pretend you are trying to loosen a very tight bolt, and you are using a short wrench. (The bolt is your shock and the wrech is your a-arm.) The bolt will be very hard to turn, if you use a longer wrench(a-arm), the bolt(shock) doesn't seem as tight, because you have more leverage with the longer wrench. You can only adjust by getting a hevier spring or moving the shock mounts out from the chassis and closer to the tire. Basically, the farther out from the shock you put your wheels the softer the spring rate gets.

Have you adjusted your shocks as firm as they will go? Try to stiffen you stock shocks with the adjustment and see if that helps.

Hope that helps

Whoever said to check your adjustment of the caster is correct. If your arms are castor adjustable, you need to set them for your riding style. More positive castor will give you good high speed stability, but quick turning and easy steering will sacrivice. More negative castor will make steering light and responsive, but will deliver a "twitchy" feeling at higher speeds.

Alright well I went riding today and have some bad news. Were were riding at one of our friends farm and we decided we wanted to go climb some hills so we crossed through about 9 fields (we know the farmer who owns them) and then came to a little road that we had to cross over. We know we arent supposed to ride on roads but when you got to you got to. We were on it for maybe 2 seconds (just to drive acrossed and played on the hilss for maybe 45 minutes and were getting ready to cross back over and we saw a cop driving down the road so we just turned around and played for like 10 minutes and then crossed and got on our way home. THEN as we were going through the field, the piece that holds the bushing on (not sure what it is called breaks. So now i am really pissed. We look behind us and there is a cop just sitting there watching us (maybe a 1/2 mile away) so I keep riding it and dump it behind another one of my friends houses and jump on the kid i was riding withs quad and he takes me home. So I get the truck out and go get ready to load it up and when i pull in i see 3 cops out there standing around my machine so now i get worried, so we go drive around for about 10 minutes and go back and luckily they are gone and didnt do anything to it. So I definately feel lucky there. But anyway, I am very disappointed with my new a-arms, to start off, I ordered them and they told me 6-8 days for shipping. They contiued to make up excuses for 5 weeks until they finally arrived, FOUR WEEKS LATE. So I get them put on, and this is my first ride on them and now this happens. I broke my outher ones so its not like i can just switch them. So I am really mad at GT THUNDER, i am going to call them and if they fix it i guess i will be satisfied but if they do not, it wont be the last theyve heard of me. Just thought i would let of a little steam. Dont you think they should fix what happened, it could have gotten me into serious trouble if the cops hadnt felt so un-copish today.

*We were never technically running from the cops so i dont wanna catch any crap about that.
