hey guys I have a 2002 Polaris sportsman 500 ho and the front out put shaft that comes out of the trans is not spinning when in four wheel drive .also the front hubs are not engaging the front wheels , I broke my left front axel because the u joint failed and still have to fix that but im pretty sure that has nothing to do whit this issue . even in the air in four wheel drive only the rear wheels turn . once or twice the front wheels would turn half a turn the kick out . could I have an electrical issue ??? . my speedo does not work could that be the cause . or is it a stripped front out put shaft inside the transmission please help .

 

If it's the prop shaft that you're talking about not spinning,then you could have splines stripped on it where it goes to the transmission shaft. If that's the case it would be hard to have the awd engage. Plus a broken speedo would just add to the mix because the awd ground path goes through it.If the prop shaft isn't kept greased,the softer splines in it can strip. Get this problem out of the way first,then the broken drive shaft u-joint and go from there.
