Default New Tire Recomendations

So I've been out of the loop on keeping up with atv tires for the past several years. Last atv tires I bought new were mud bugs probably back in 08. Got in to the GBC gators because I picked them up on CL and they have treated me well. Now it's coming time to upgrade and I'm having trouble finding stuff I like.

Backstory/current 4 wheeler is an 03 AC 300 with a 250 suzuki motor swap on 26/27 gators. Fixing to install a 3.6 front dif so needing to upgrade the front tires to 27s.

I'd like to get the 28/10/12 vampire EDLs since I remember they ran small but I seem to be having trouble finding them. Seems all my favorite tires have been discontinued. So newbie question of what should I get or where from? I'm not looking to buy laws, backs, or mambas even though I could do the old school setup with the small AC. Terrain is dirt/mud trails. Usually not the hardcore mud but I still see my fair share. Obviously I have just barely made it into the 21st century with my machines and I'm not running the new fancy big bore machines all the cool kids are but I know tires are where it counts. So who can help me out since my google skills seem to be broke.

I'm currently running the artrax ctx tires from motorsport.com They have been great so far with the exception of loose sand. Pretty good price as well.

I also had good luck with the GBC Spartacus tires, but they have gone up quite a bit in price in the last few years.

Good time of year to purchase new tires, a lot of sales on right now.

Others will chime in with some other good tires to check out. Good luck with your shopping.

Sounds like you putting a lot of strain on that small engine with those big tires...you might be looking at trouble down the road....just my .02 worth..

10 years ago people were running 31s on these with a small cam swap and removing fenders. 126:1 total reduction from the factory. It may not turn them fast, but it will turn them.

I'd look at the Maxxis Zillas. Much lighter than other mud tires, which would definitely be a plus here
Amazon Amazon
They also come in 26 and 27's as well. 23 lbs for the 28x10x12 is about what most 25" mud tires weigh.

Here's a picture of my AC 400 with 27" Outlaw MST's. Lightweight, awesome traction and smooth. They are on my 700 TRV now.
