Both the Yamaha Grizzly 80 and Raptor 80 appear to use the same engine set up. However, the primary coil resistance for the 2008 Grizzly 80 ia 1.4 to 1.8 ohms, and for the Raptor it's .184 to .276, both according to the service manuals. Why would that be?

 

Probably an indication that checking resistance on low impedance coils is a waste of time. No resistance bad, open circuit bad, anything in between, possibly OK.
