I hope you guys are right about the new Honda 650EX. I showed up a little late to see it, but there was a Kawa650 at Shilo Ridge today that smoked a 400EX in the drag. Just wait until they release the new Kawa650 Sportbike. All they have left to do is to decide on the appearance of the plastic.

Thats how i look at it nowadays, i just have to see it to believe it. But from what i heard, The kawasaki 650 has a top speed of 65 mph, right about the same as the 400ex. But the guy could have done stuff to the kaw650s engine, or the guy on the honda could have just sucked, theres to many variables to decide for ourselves what really happened, then having YOU just say it did.

 

sounds like a personal problem to me.....LOL. I got my butt spanked by a modded 400ex, i was on my scrambler 500 4x4. But, i beat him worse through the mud than he beats me on the road!

I have read that the 650 Kawi. is pretty quick but not quick enough to beat a stock Mojave. I do not believe a stock Mojave will beat a 400EX. Just what I've heard anyway. We'll see when it really comes out, hopefully this frickin' year. Kawi. needs to come out with a sport bike in a bad way too.

 

I ride with a 400 prarie, he is fast of the line, in dirt with all wheels pullin he can beat or at least run with the smaller sport bikes off the line. I bet in sand or loose that the 650 may be able to take on some bigger bikes like the 400. but on pavement, and with a good rider the 400 should hook-up and hopefully edge it out.. we will c I guess. I hope that this pushes honda to do something!!!!

It should give it a run for its money a very light machine (for a 4x4) with a 650 twin in it. If they drop it in a sport bike all the manufacturers will need to watch out.
