Gentlemen,

I have a 99 Sport 400. I'm looking for a new pipe and clutch kit. I've heard good things about Dynoport, FMF, RCR, and others. I do a bit of National Forest rding and they have noise regulations. I dont want a really loud pipe either. Any thoughts on your experiences will be appreciated.

I have a 99 sport with an RCR pipe on it. It works great but was hell to put on. This was a few months ago maybe RCR has revised the pipe. You see the 98 sport's motor was shifted 1/4 of a inch compared to that of the 99. If I were you I would call RCR and ask them if they have done an mods to the pipe. Mine is really loud, so you might not want to order the aluminum silencer, just bolt your stock one up to the new pipe.

If your doing forest riding noise is not your only concern, (forest approved spark arrester) FMF offers this with there silencer, check them out they have always made nice pipes in the past and been around for quite some time.

One more suggestion. I had a 98 Sport with AAEN top end pipe(with Spark arrestor) and clutch kit. It was a great pipe, it really ripped and it fits perfect and goes on easy
