4 wire vs 2 wires gear selector switch?

4 wire vs 2 wires gear selector switch?
I'm installing all new electronics and harness in a taotao atv 125g, The new harness which is obviously generic only has 2 wires for the neutral switch and my bike has 5 since it has reverse, Do i only need 2 wires and the other 3 are to power the neutral/reverse lights?
