Makes a clicking noise when trying to start.

 

Make sure the battery isn't flat. If it is charged, I use a 12v test lamp. Put one lead to earth and the other on the starter live terminal. Switch on, press starter, if the solenoid clicks once, but the lamp doesn't light, faulty solenoid, if the lamp does light, faulty starter. If the lamp is very dim, probably a bad connection, battery, earth, or solenoid leads. If solenoid buzzes when the start button is pressed bad connection, dud battery or seized starter or engine.
