banshee stciky throttle...can anyone help me get this sorted out?

OK. I've had this *ucking problem since...some time now.
The throttle sticks but not all the time (and that's why it's so annoying).
I thought about an air leak...but I guess it wouldn't stop (miraculously...like it does right now).
Then maybe it is the twist and its cables sticking somewhere...I noticed that it happens more after water crossing (even when water isn't deep).
Does anyone with a Motion Pro twist have this sort of trouble?
I really don't know where to start with this (and I'm really pi$$ed off).

Zorro... it could be the "pulley" in the twist grip. Look under the cover and see if some sand or something got in there. You may also need to make sure the cable is routed so it doesn't get pinched when the bars are turned all the way to one side. I noticed that the previous owner of my Banshee had his cable routed wrong when he put the twist on as confirmed by the dent in the cable jacket. When I went back to thumb i made sure not to re-make his mistake but it's an easy mistake to make.

I had the same problem...well maybe.
Sometimes when I was riding...it would seem that the banshee would keep accelerating regardless of input from my thumb.
It seemed like an air leak...But no. It was the "Y" splitter for the throttle. I had to pull the boot back and clean out the grit. -pull the cables from the top of the carbs liberally applied wd-40 to help displace the moisture...let it dry and used dry cable lube. The problem went away. Something was binding...keeping one of the carbs from closing upon release of the throttle.
The lubing helped for sure....But more than that..I re routed the split (it was hitting my boost bottle).
keep searching. If it helps...pull the tank and check for any binding under the tank. Does your problem show up during any "special" occasions? Like turning left or right?
Just some ideas.

thanks guys, keep em coming!
Here's what I have done. First of all, I rerouted it...I don't know who installed this, ubt he has been a crap concentrate...oops, that was me...I still don't remember how I could route it so stupidly. Anyways, it's a lot smoother now, I have "resychronised" my carbs (one was opening before the other, and the idle screws were unequal), and poured 2 gallons of thin oil in the cable...I have pulled it at least 50 times by hand, trying to notice any "hard spot", but it was smooth...a little hard, but smooth.
I hope this will help, caus it's pretty ride ruining, but I haven't got a chance to test the mods yet (tomorrow or this afternoon...don't know)
Like sAy_It_fmf said, sometimes acceleration is uncontrollable, and stops, like it arrived.
I have checked the "special occasions". Turning the handlebars has not made any difference...the only special stuff would be water. On dry land, nothing special happens, and I can ride without trouble, but as soon as I hit the waterholes...everything goes wrong again, and doesn't stop when I get out of the water.
Would harder slide springs help? Being a twist, stiffer springs won't bring too many cramps.
Thanks again for the input...and keep it coming!
Forgot to mention...I separated the throttle cables from all the other electrical crap. wires are under the "boost bottle" (the mini stock stuff), and the throttle cable/splitter/etc is over it, so it shouldn't be bothered by anything else...I really hope this is gonna turn out nice.
