hello good day!
Newbie here . I have an odes 400 I wonder if somebody can help me identify what is this in the right side of the cylinder?
What is this tube for and where is this connected

 

Strange one that, the Odes is a Chinese copy of a Honda 350 but the 350 doesn't have that thing. Oddly enough new Honda 250s do have something similar, but the only newish 250 engine I have had apart had the "system" disconnected. I checked with the local Honda dealer who said "leave it like that".

 

Hello Merryman thank you for the response. This is in a rough condition when I bought it. Yes this is disconnected also but I see the hose that was cut (on the 3rd picture) I lts sucking air going in. I am.worried if it is coolant line that has disconnected then the engine might be toast. Been searching for Honda trx 350 cannot find the same.

 

It is an air cooled engine so no coolant. I hoped I would get an explanation from the dealer of what the "thing" is on the Honda 250, but just got the "leave it like that" I quoted earlier.

this is breather and if is not connected is not big deal . your engine have other breather
