I have a 2002 Polaris 500 professional series basically built of a magnum body style with straight axle but the problem is it only goes 26mph and I'm wondering is there some type of limiter on these models or is it in the transmission any help would be grateful

 

most likely a clutch or belt issue? start by taking clutch cover off to check the belt and maybe clean them.
