So I bought a 92 TRX250X off Craigslist and it ran a little crappy when I bought it so I tore into it a little. Basically it idles great and runs and pulls really well at low rpms. When I get to higher rpms it seems to hit a rev limiter, sort of. It’s only at most 5000rpm but it will rev up, die. Rev up, die. Rev up, die. It will do this over and over while holding it full throttle in 1st, 2nd, neutral, whatever. It doesn’t shut off but it revs up for 1 second then dies for 1 second and rev back up. Also when I get to 4th and 5th, it hits a point where it seems like it’s giving it all it’s got and no longer climbs rpms. Could this be a stator? Whatever info would really help.
